I Have To Go Now

I Have To Go Now

A Poem by Charles Petrie

I Have To Go Now

I have to go now

And something make to post

I elsewhere said

As here I had to come

For here I want to be

But lacking poetry

And the tales I could bring

Just not being ready

For you to read

Leave me slow to do this

That this I want to do

So worry not that I sighed

It's just my wishing more

That I could bring as before

When I knew as what

Just what to post

As writing means the most

So giving you the good

Should be understood

Is what I mean to do

So as others would say

Write not of me today

But of whatever else

Which so I shall

In the coming whens

I have to go now

As something made to post

Has done been done

And though it felt

Like a journey to nowhwere

Believe it well

You caught a glance

Of a mind in motion

And I have a notion

That that is a part

Of the writing art

How intriguing - a catch into the glimpse of the writer writing what it is he means to post yet knows not what it seems to me. Thank you.
