A Heart of Despair

A Heart of Despair

A Poem by Jaxson Phoenix

Can this be real?
I wish that I knew.
This pain I feel,
how can it be true?

I do not bleed.
There is not a bruise.
Yet, there is pain;
hence, I'm confused.

The pain in my chest
invades my being,
Yet no outward signs
shall you be seeing.

Except, just perhaps,
the look in my eye
the very moment
I break down to cry.

A heart of despair,
just longing to see
a lover's soft glance
to set his pain free.

Wonderfully poetic and even philosophic work. Great rhytmic. Love it!
