Freak

Freak

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

Freak my life.
So sick of this routine.
Make my day.
It's better off obscene.
Lovely twists.
With panicked screams.
Never ending giggles.
At disbelief.
So strange.
Slightly deranged.
A jolly good time for all.
Seems cool.
What a fool.
Just enjoying the fall.
We can all pretend
Like normality is a friend.
Just be like everyone else.
I'm sure they'll never tell.
Those secrets in your eyes.
You try so hard to hide.
I see through your disguise.
Just let your freak flag fly.
You might feel alive.
For once in your life.
Well no one is the same
There's still this mimic game.
Well I refuse to play.
What else can I say.
Normality is boring.
Walk your own path.
No one out there's scoring.
Its up to you to do the math.

Right off the bat I was sucked in, very strong throughout the piece. Nice.

Wow. What inspired this?
I think sometimes everyone feels like this...
Good job.
