Living Dead

Living Dead

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

Look alive, before your dead
Didn't see it coming did you?
You're surprised it's the end
and there's nothing you can do.

Never mind, still we try,
I think we could live forever.
Is your soul purely light?
Have you made your peace with death?

As the zombies walk amongst us.
You can tell they wish to die.
There is magic in the living.
See that shine that's in your eyes?

Be careful who you deal with.
The dead can fake a smile.
Don't be fooled, they have no soul
Their minds trapped in denial.

They'll consume your spirit...
You'll be one of them...
Never be content again...
Always wanting, never get...

The gluttons and the greedy.
Soulless, mindless, walking stiffs.
Nothing ever satisfies.
There is no relief.

This spiritual war is very real.
Be on guard, become aware.
Defend your inner presence.
Not everyone's alive out there.
