the Herkimer Diamond goes on a 'shroom trip

the Herkimer Diamond goes on a 'shroom trip

A Poem by Jennifer A. Aspuria

“There is knowledge you cannot acquire without loss." -

fluid inclusion, trapped in seclusion

crystallized in the bowel of the earth

delusion of perfused collusion

filling my belly with mirth

this exclusion of inclusion,

the key to my rebirth --

with the illusion of reperfusion

to my mind, I immerse

into an extrusion, a contusion

I dive headfirst --

a transfusion of optical illusion

an unquenchable thirst, I am submersed

I burst

“There is knowledge you cannot acquire without loss. If you pierce the Enhydro quartz to get the liquid, you destroy the crystal’s uniqueness and power. Trying to get the ancient liquids and their knowledge and power destroys their crystal and mixes them with the mundane.” -

Herkimer Diamond: double-terminated quartz crystal discovered in and around Herkimer County, New York (Wikipedia)

Fluid inclusions (enhydros): microscopic bubbles of liquid and gas that are trapped within crystals (Wikipedia)

collusion: secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose (Merriam-Webster)

reperfusion: restoration of the flow of blood to a previously ischemic tissue or organ purpose (Merriam-Webster)
