Somewhere In Time

Somewhere In Time

A Poem by Jenny Davis

You will never see mine eyes

as they rain on porcelain pendulums

Nor will you see mine breasts rise and fall,

in sighs of remembrance

Asking the night tide and sidereal day

"How could this be

why has He left me to the blast?"

I will never hear an echo

whether in hums or outcries to comfort

Nor will I acquire and accept

dawn's final good-bye from my sky

Just the silence and me

with the stars as my scars chanting

"What world is this, that spins

and lives without my one true love?"

My soul is benumbed

from winds blowing me invisible

But my heart is heated

from coals of cherished moments

As I speak to the moon

and its eye of never ending light

"I remember somewhere in time...

         .........you loved me"

I can't help but see Christopher Reeves face as he finds the penny in his pocket and looks in disbelief as Jane Seymour fades into oblivion... utter desperation at the thought of separation as I read:

"What world is this, that spins
and lives without my one true love?"

My soul is benumbed
from winds blowing me invisible

But my heart is heated
from fires of cherished moments

As I speak to the moon
and its eye of never ending light

"I remember somewhere in time...
.........you loved me"

These lines could live a life of their own. This is a work to cherish... Gordon

this reads as if it could be found engraved on some ancient tablet... a very mystically heavy poem.

This is so beautiful. I think most of us remember someone this way.
The picture is so pretty, sort of magical ..
Somewhere in time.. you loved me.. to me if you love someone
even if you are apart some of the loves stays.
how could it not ?

Very nice piece. "I remember somewhere in time...
.........you loved me"
This last line reminds me a similar question I have posed to an ex...this entire piece is beautfully written has powerful emotion. You will never see mine eyes
as they rain on porcelain pendulums ...this opening line was excellent. Nice work.

"...l remember somewhere in time .... you love me." - so simple, so plain and yet so profound.

Its a poem that comes along on tip-toe undertones; but it spells some deep wisdom. Love it. xxx

This one pricked me so hard. I almost can't think of anything to say.

"I remember somewhere in time...
.........you loved me"

Very gloomy lines.
Must be so painful for anyone going through this.
Well-written, Jenny.

This is gorgeous and eloquently sad and heartbreaking throughout. The language speaks of times gone by and helps to give the feeling of the title. These words of love are echoing through the ages and you have masterfully crafted a poem which gives us just that.

Jenny,
This is so touching. Gorden is right. Those lines can live a life of their own. One of favorite line is,
But my heart is heated
from fires of cherished moments.

Cherished moment like that are so bittersweet.
This was written beautifully.
