Lexie's Poem

Lexie's Poem

A Poem by Nathaniel Fahey

I was your forever,

Ready to move away and live

So many promises and plans

Trips to take, memories to make

I wasn't your right now,

Lies come out and hearts sink

Tears held back and hidden

The bottle lightens, shots vanish

I was your best,

Pen writes and cigarettes burn

Bitterness flows and anger shines

Change starts, I am free

This is a poem I can totally relate to! This reminds me that the "what could have been's" of life eventually shaped me to be who I am today.
