Shipwreck Survival

Shipwreck Survival

A Poem by Jesscribbles
"

Two teenagers survive shipwreck at Loch Ard Gorge, 1878, Australia

"
Broken apart
Like lovers never meant to be
And to be separated at sea
Oh what to be!
The salt does burn
How the waves turn
Clashing
Crushing
Crumbling
Their frailty at her side
Her wall
Oh how the ships fall!
Then a light
They follow
It glistens
Bright with the sun
Like broken glass
Shattered
Into almost unseen pieces
Sand
So minuscule
So small
Yet together
A haven
Then the crawl
The weak struggle
The grasp of land
Slipping
Through their very fingers
