Natural Disaster

Natural Disaster

A Poem by jesswrecks

You’re a wild fire
down my spine,
burning through the
trees and scorching
my flesh with your name

You’re a category five
hurricane that blew my
soul up in your tornados
to swirl with the remnants
of the children we use to be

You’re the tsunami, that
crashed down the city
streets with your shoelaces
untied, to listen to my heart
beat like drums and sink
back like the seven seas
