Bring the Shadows Home

Bring the Shadows Home

A Poem by Jester

Would keep me awake,

In the darkness,

When the world seems to shake?

What if the pain was too much,

I couldn’t take the world,

If all I had is a razorblade crutch?

Would you still be there?

Or would you abandon me,

To the hate filled heir?

And if I couldn’t take the pain,

Would all that’s left

Be the cold steel rain?

You fly on wings unbroken,

My wings are shattered,

My heart unopened.

Would brave the darkness still,

To find me here,

Do you have the will?

If I take the bait,

The pain filled nights,

Will I drown in hate?

Your dreams take flight.

A never ending darkness home,

A place of light holds me no more,

And so we wait under broken tomes,

To come and bring the shadows home.
