New York Resident

My thoughts about New York

As a recent resident of New York it got me thinking.

How people take it for granted and forget all the amazing things that there are in the city.

If thousands, millions of people come from all over the world to visit or make their dreams come true,

Those who have been here for years forget what a treasure it is to live in New York,

Getting caught up in the reality and forgetting why the city is so great

Sure there are downsides, like parking and driving, Trash everywhere you walk

and your'e paying thousands of dollars to live in a shoe box of an apartment, where the only maybe decent rent is if you live out the city... but if you do then be prepared for the commute.

Because of  this we tend to lose sight about what makes the city unique and fun

Not many people know that the most quiet hours of the night are between 6 and 7am

Or the freedom that you really could walk to any destination 

Those special hole in the wall places that not many people know about

I went for a walk in the rain and right on the corner of Clinton, before you make the right to be on the street of Williamsburg bridge was this bar, It was called the CoCo bar, nothing to fancy but it was quiet and cozy and they had these hot chocolate drinks that were spiked with different alcohol. It was pricey, but it was something new

Or walking down Houston street and seeing the line for Katz's, a famous sandwich shop that has a line that wraps around the block.

The weather in New York is amazing, I got to experience so many types of weather in the three months Ive been here. 70 degrees one day, 30 another, snowing one afternoon and bright and sunny another. Getting to see the trees change color and watching all the people and seeing all types of people

Feeling the wind on my face and the chill of the morning air, it was quite refreshing

as much as it can be in the city street anyway,

Hearing the music thought the city streets

How pretty and ugly the city can look through rain or shine,

It is not  easy getting around in New York, there are many places to go and be

I managed to go to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Long Island and Staten Island. Take the Fairy, the local and express bus,  the local and express train, an uber and walked for miles. There are so many ways to get around its so freeing and it . is never a dull moment. I would get lost so many times but it was an experience that make great stories to laugh at later.

One of my favorite places to walk was at Dumbo in Brooklyn, the cobble stone streets where very beautiful, I took the fairy and walked the Brooklyn Bridge to get there. It was everything out of a movie. New York has so much History, there is more to it than times square and the common things like going . to the statue of liberty and empire state building.

New York has to be one of the best places to get food. Its diversity and creativity with the creations of different foods are amazing,

 Foods for all taste palates that a person has, even for the pickiest of eatters

 Even when you think you have had it all you are wrong, you can find amazing food anywhere and the options are endless. It is quite overwhelming sometimes

For me personally I really loved Martha's bakery in queens and any Asian Food.

The shops are endless and you begin to understand why New York is considered one of the most fashionable places, boots are always in and if you were not wearing a boot of any kind it was sneakers, even if it was fancy people would wear beat up sneakers. It was quite funny really. It seemed imperfectly perfect.

So for the people who have lived in New York all their life, yes there are good things, and there are bad things. But when begin to lose reality of where you are maybe its time to stop and take an adventure somewhere into the unknown. The CIty is constantly changing so I am sure that there is something new to uncover and just remember how free you are in a place that is constantly alive, electrifying, thrilling.
