Successful In Society

A more negative outlook on how to be successful in the world.

To be successful in society, there is a list of rules you most follow

Go to to school...Get good Grades, Get a Job...Make lots of money, Work Hard...Rewards will follow, Start a family... Big house with a White picket fence... Two children and maybe a dog.

The great American Dream right?

Be unique, Be creative, Be Different... But not too different..

 The world doesn't like change and is scary,  Most people don't like that.

Gender norms must be met, even if it is only a construct

Because the world likes its labels

If the world cant fit into a little box

People find it weird, strange and seem to have a inability to understand

A women can be a CEO; but is a B***h

A Man can be Sensitive; but is Weak

A Women can be a great mother; but a poor worker

A Man can be a great father and an excellent worker; and suddenly he's a family man who sacrifices all

Culture Norms, Social Norms, Gender Norms

Don't step too out out of line or you might just be burned

To be fulfilled in your short life

You must be excepted by everyone

Your peers, your family, your friends, even to the stranger you will never see again.

Corporate America Baby! 

The most corrupt of all... maybe just behind society itself.

Society views these people as well rounded individuals

Who will thrive in this cruel superficial world

Which is why people may be kind to that one person they may hate

Or take s**t from those who deserve nothing

Smile when they don't want to

Laugh because others are

Tolerance for ignorance

Tolerance for mistreatment

Tolerance for misconduct

To be the bigger person

To be the adult in a world full of people who have not yet grown up

That is a type of privilege not many people are aware of that they seem to have.

Taboo! Taboo!

It is wrong to talk about who is wrong

It is wrong to talk about what is wrong

No one can take the blame

No one wants to take the blame

We scramble around for a scape goat, desperately

It is wrong to talk about the suffering you have faced

Because there are others who suffer worse than you

Fighting about who suffers more..the most

Who has had it worse

Because that is the only way to seek validation it seems

Its all so pathetic

Who cares

That is not why we should be fight about

But society loves it

Thrives on it actually

The Chaos, The Disorder, The mayhem

The only way to get attention it seems anymore

Is to either suffer the most or be the worse.

To be Successful in this world

Egoism.

It all about what is in it for me

How can it benefit

How can I make it work for me

Trick, Scam,Cheat

Society Fears being kind, caring, Charitable

Because then you are nothing more than a

Sucker,Gullible,Exploitable

Simply to be human is seen as a disease.

I believe that different people measure success in different ways. Personally, I want to make this world a more accepting place, and that is why I write. However, since I have a university degree, I'm also pressured to earn lots of money. I know I could if I wanted to, but other things are more important to me. I feel that my time on this planet is better spent in other ways.
