A Poem by Lissy

Avid Reader:

I think of you often

Rake the nails of my memory

Across an itch beneath my skin;

My need for you.

Your absence is in my veins.

You sit like the puddle of an unshed tear,

Welling below my eye.

I try not to blink, keep you, my sweet

Yet you’re anchored in your departure.

I chase your breath,

Glimpse a foggy moment

Imprison its impermanence

All we’ve left is a memoir

It should be published in Braille

How else will I disrobe our endearments,

Run my fingers over our tryst.
