Stone Circle Mystery

Stone Circle Mystery

A Poem by John Phoenix Hutchinson.
"

My new poem "Stone Circle Mystery". John Phoenix Hutchinson (C)2012 You are standing at the heart of an ancient mystical stone circle.

"

 Stone Circle Mystery.

Time has no implication, no symbolization here.

Within the circle of the standing stones, you are immune.

Body engaged, entwined with the earth, held captivated.

Standing more like a statue, than the stones themselves.

In this captured space the significance of spirit soars.

Mystical magnificence invigorates, motivates the soul.

You are singular in the universal metropolis and centre of the all.

The solar and lunar tides sweep over you, a torrent of emotion.

Lost in a flood of sensation, elated passion for life.

Overwhelmed by the vast domain of never ending space.

Your heart is renewed and you enter heavenly innocence.

I always like spiritualism in poetry because it touches on what defies the best of us to explain. You have captured it well here and I sincerely enjoyed the read.

All this is certainly true. Been to Castlerigg many times find it much more evocative and mysterious than Stonehenge with its crowds and Stone Age Burgers. That you cannot get near it also.
This write puts together what happens when you enter the ring precisely. It is very well written
On a similar note have you ever been to Callanish on Lewis in the Western Isles?

mystical and beautiful. Ah! to be centered within the center of the circle of standing stones, of time itself. Your poem carries me to that place. Beautifully written!

Its a wonderful feeling and very special place.
I found this quite ethereal, and would love to see this and the other wonders of what these kinds of places hold. In watching a program about Stonehenge I heard there is like an energy field as you get near the stones. Could something along those lines be happening here in this site you write about? I find this a fascinating exploration into the unknown of the world too. Thanks for writing such interesting poems.

"You are singular in the universal metropolis and centre of the all."
It was one of all of the lines I loved.

Lovely and intense. I'm not sure how to describe my initial reaction but the only words I could muster was that it was amazing. It makes me feel that you wrote this in the place, there and then. This is obvious that it's heavily inspired and what's brilliant is you manage to infect readers with it :)

Nice write

' .., you are immune. ~ Body engaged, entwined with the earth, held captivated.'

Castlerigg? Whatever the archaeologists and the like throw up each and every time they scan or dig a site.. there's that magically wonderful unknown .. nobody who was there is alive to tell. When you think of the existence and meaning of the ring, how it once represented this or that AND that it's stiil there in its remnants to remind us that true past stands forever as what .. a reminder, a warning, a lesson .. who's to know. You've absolutely captured the power of the place, made it hum its ripples across time. Love it.
