Love On A Fateful Wind

Love On A Fateful Wind

A Poem by Lucien

In the alleyways of thought, words
bounce off of walls and groan
as leaves defiantly fly only
to fall forever dependant on the wind

Stationed comfortably upon on a branch
the seasons come and go as taunting as
angelic smiles that wistfully will a
leap into action.

But what leaf ever leapt into an arc
of desired chicane, destined toward a
dutiful branch, situated miles from
its original home?

I see the lovers huddled upon lawns,
sidewalks, gutters and garbage cans
shivering as they speak of the good ol'
days, before their irrational fall

As I'm pulled away from my home by
thoughts of you I can hear their warnings
crunch beneath my every step, however,
your smile is as fateful as a cradled wind.

Okay I love this one. You are a very talented poet. People get so caught up on telling people about what they spelled wrong that they forget to give compliments. Congrats on this one. The comparison between love and the reality of Fall being upon us is a very deep thought. Once again I love this poem.
