Forever Torn

It spins round and round

Life

A continuous cycle

Giving

Taking

Birthing

Breaking

A game of choice

 

For some it is happy

For some it is sad

But for all it is here

We have it together

But tear it apart

 

It calls us to act

To become

A fearsome battle

A fight lost for some

We share in its victory

And bond in its despair

Yet we let some go

And fade to thin air

 

Why must we fight

Why must we separate

 

We all are here

We all share the same space

 

Yet darkness founds its way in

Into our hearts

We let it consume us

And tear us apart

 

We could change

We could fight

To make life better

We just might

 

But darkness comes back

Just like the start

We could enjoy life together

But instead

We tear it apart
