The stage

The stage

A Poem by Maggie nificent
"

This one is an excerpt from a novel I'm writing, (I'll be posting that one soon). I'd like to hear what you think, questions or/and comments welcome!

"
Why couldn't they see it? Her family or her peers

When she smiled and said "I'm fine"

Were they oblivious to her lingering whyne?

She never tried to hide them, her burdens or her fears

If only they cared enough

Perhaps it wouldn't be clear?

Life a jungle, they the lions

Her heart a gentle deer

The heart wrenching pain, what did the doers gain?

She was tired, tired of it all

Masking pain, so hard to feign

Would it become her fall?

Settled in calming wonder

How long would sanity linger?

She needed to end it, she just didn't know how

For their simulated approval, she gave a gentle bow

Loved the last line as if she had already accepted the sadness of her situation, sadly at the expense of her happiness. Wonderful poem :)
