My freedom

My freedom

A Poem by Maggie nificent
"

My freedom

"
I remember it, as clear as day

Everything you do, everything you say

Its a monster, your evil ways

A price that I now have to pay

It feeds on me more and more

Reminds me of an unsettled score

A reoccurring dream, more and more hurt

My life and mystery now an escort

It's always been there deep down inside

It simply grew to big to hide

Out of helplessness I let it grow

A burden I bear, a seed you sowed

Sometimes I wish you'd let me go

Wish you'd defeat this inner foe

A for I now call a friend

A friend that will surely be my end

I see her often, day by day

She is my captive and I her prey

While I revel in my plight

In her eyes a devious light

I saw her yet again today

In a most unexpected way

I reached out to her and touched her cheek

And saw her again, a hideous freak

And then I asked her to let me be

Alas! She couldn't set me free

A reason being, the foe was me
