Serenity in Absence

Serenity in Absence

A Poem by Joshua Rawlins

I am a lake,

Cerulean and still,

Nothing moves in my wake,

Naught to overspill.

The winds shake

The sands from the hill;

I feel them snake

Across my surface till

I swallow them whole and not a ripple make.

I wonder whether I will.

Very interesting twist on 'water poems' here, Joshua. So often in poetry water is used to express constant, fluid motion, to see the reverse done is refreshing. It works too, never once felt out of place. Great stuff, keep it up!
