Just Your Average Teenage Girl

Just Your Average Teenage Girl

A Poem by Kitty

I'm just your average teenage girl,
Trying to be myself.
Trying to break away from the image
Of that perfect doll on the shelf.

They say I am emotional
And why shouldn't I be?
This is all part of my journey,
Of me being, well, me.

Just your average
Teenage girl,
Fighting for my life
In this cruel, cold world.

"You're so touchy,"
They always say.
Why won't they just shut up
And go their separate ways?

I'm just your average teenage girl
Living life alone.
There is no place to hide,
No place to call my home.

Feeling so lost
In this world filled with hate.
Is this feeling of loneliness
To be my eternal fate?

Just your average
Teenage girl,
Fighting for my life
In this cruel, cold world.

You speak for literally millions of those who feel they have no voice. This is another incredible work of yours that connects so deeply to the alienation of our human experience. You deeply touch my life through your words. Thank you!

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
