Witch of the Water

Witch of the Water

A Poem by Jqjohnson

Wondering through the darken sea
Smell the moistened rocks
Gaze upon the shadowed trees
Questioned by the knocks
Who is it
What lies beyond the mist
Serpents are crawling through the nets
Perhaps it's the girl I never did kiss
Oh, Temptress of blackened waters
Whom do you come for now
The man who stole your virgin daughter
or the girl who broke your mortal vow
When walking down upon the shore
Take time to stop and stare
The lady who haunts the harbour
She has seaweed in her long black hair
Her life lacks simple bliss
The mourns pierce the night
What made her quite like this
Always on the border of human site
Oh, Temptress of blackened waters
Whom do you come for now
The man who stole your virgin daughter
Or the girl who broke your mortal vow

Whoo! This is fantastic! I especially love how you said the girl was a "witch of the water" instead of saying she was a mermaid or a siren. You're so talented!
