Lonely Spaniard

Lonely Spaniard

A Poem by Jqjohnson

Mustache man
Down on the shore
Making your way back home

Mustache man
Who are you
Walking up the dirty road

The lonely spaniard goes

Do you cry at night
Always on the edge
of your true loves sight

Who is to blame
Why are you alone
What is your name

Down the road
The lonely spaniard goes

Are you searching for riches
Are you searching for love
Up in the mountains, there's sure to be gold

The lonely spaniard goes
Down the road

Follow him home
Where do you sleep at night

One room shack
Down in the dust
Dogs bark out back

Works his job
Goes to bed
Starts to sob

This is the end
This is the end

Morning comes
He's not there
His soul has moved on

The lonely spaniard goes
Down the streets of gold
There he goes

Oh, man...
I really love how the narrator took an interest in the stranger, even though he was all alone. Most people would look at him and think he was invisible, but the narrator was curious.

I was shocked when he passed away. Good job with the plot twist there - I don't think anyone saw it coming.
