Some Say

Some Say

A Poem by Yuval Freund

Who really knows best?

Some say,
that it's ok,
that love could happen in a different way,

but I,
afraid to try,
I have to ask if this is right and why

this door,
been here before,
I knock 3 times, not once, not less, no more,
you open up, I don't care anymore.

Some say,
I have to pay,
for letting you slip by and drift away

so far,
without a car,
two thousand pennies in a pickle jar

you stole,
and spent it all,
I let my guard down, and you dropped the ball,
without regret you tore my heart a hole.

Some say,
it's not ok
you broke my will and left a disarray,

but still,
there is a thrill,
a missing heart beat and the warmest chill

of hope,
that lets me cope,
and think that one day we should just elope,
what others say is but a slippery slope.

Do not disturb me, I'm already disturbed. ;)

I've been writing throughout the vast majority of my life, mostly because I find it a good form of release, but also because I feel I could help others by doing so, whether it's by enrichment of knowl.. more..
