Is it out of selfishness

That I tell him I don’t love him?

That I tell him it won’t work?

That I tell him there’s another?

 

Is it out of selfishness

That he tells me his love is unconditional?

That he tells me we’ll figure out a way?

That he tells me I’m his one and only?

 

Is it out of selfishness

That half this love blossoms

While half is stabbed dead?

That we try so hard to make this possible

While trying so hard to make it non-existent?

That we try to make this special

While we know this can’t be?

That this is all fake

That I’m sick of acting?
