You're Not What He Says You Are

You're Not What He Says You Are

A Poem by Julia Weimerskirch

You are not what he says is wrong with you.

You are perfect and glowing and forming a new body

one without him.

A New one that he has not touched,

with all the same cracks he once pointed out.

These cracks make you unique.

Flaws are the marble making up your beautiful skin.

Weeds growing next to the flowers he wanted to uproot.

You are not what he says is wrong with you.

You are a masterpiece.

i love this poem...the masterpiece is flawed and that is what makes her a masterpiece that he was unable to appreciate...
but the idea of forming the new body, the one he hadn't touched...
she understands she isn't perfect....but perfect enough for herself and anyone else who will appreciate her...
he wasn't worth it...and is the biggest weed.
