Making Memories

a simple love poem

I remember
when the breeze whispered of romance

Blowing softly
over a liquid blanket of diamonds
dancing upon the slow moving water

I shivered
as you pulled my wrap over my shoulders
holding me close against your chest
where the scent of you blended
with the sweet anticipation of your kiss

We laughed
while the diamonds waltzed in perfect rhythm
twirling in tiny pirouettes

Elegant, graceful
and with such an ease...

It was only
when I felt your lips gently touch mine
did I realize

I would be making memories

Yes, I remember
when the breeze whispered of romance
and I fell in love

I really enjoyed the sentimental images of "over a liquid blanket of daimonds" and "the sweet anticipation of your kiss." These are such great lines of new love. It's true that we rarely think about it as making a memory, until it happens! Then, those memories are ours to collect in a little jewelry box. Great job here!
