Spring with Mother

Spring with Mother

~~~
I remember when the March breeze
still held a winter chill
but the sky was a cloudless blue
and the sun warmed the graceful white petals
of the calla lilies
in mother’s garden
The garden swing creaked
as she leaned over to button my pink sweater
 “You don’t want to catch a cold little one”
I held her hand in mine
She smiled…
we loved the calla lilies
~~~

dear Julie... Your poem frames a Mother's love...
Our Mothers taught us tenderness and the beauty
of flowers. A garden has the essentials of life...
birdsong is Mother nature's symphony...
trees provide shelter... pine needles a bed.
I love your poetry... soft and sweet. truly... Pat

Mother-and daughter-memories are nothing but pure love. Your poem reflects sweet memories of that kind of love, Julie. I feel like hugging my mother now.
