It Was There

It Was There

~ a romantic scribble ~

Love came softly

like the mist in a dream

      as quiet as a breeze

as graceful as a stream

of flowers

               cascading

                         gently through the air

         So silent…

I didn’t know it was there

As the breeze blew stronger

each petal on the ground

                      started to scatter

             still without a sound

      leaving just the mist

                       of dreams

                                to take me where

Love came softly…

but I believe it was there

Smiled and then thought, where was I when love came? Was it here or there? Anywhere?? Then I thought ohno I'm one of those who need to be smacked upside the head to know he's in love or loved. Hopeless Julie, tsk tsk. I think if it weren't for your little romantic scribbles (as well as a few others) I wouldn't even know what love is anymore. And you make it feel so wonderful...~~redzone

Oh I adore this love poem!
It carries a sweet fragrance that lingers and leaves one wishing to go back and delight again in the passing beauty of walking through the garden created by this poem.
Definitely another one added to my favorites!

Thanks again. :) Julie
This makes me think of the way the love between my husband and me came about - I was expecting a grand entrance like in the movies, but it came so softly that I didn't even recognize it at first. lovely.

Are we to believe love has ended ? This is a little different to your other works. A beautifully written piece yet again. Full of feeling in so few words. I see you have chosen a sad picture to accentuate this poem too. Clive.

What a lovely whisper of words...soft and dreamy...

It's refreshing to "feel" the flow of your words, rather than being technical...

sometimes we don't know love is there, and yet, we want to believe, and eventually we do believe.
