Clouds of Pink

Clouds of Pink

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a romantic scribble ~

"

~~~
When evening comes and clouds of pink
like cotton candy dreams
float visions of a softer time
a fantasy it seems
of soft pastels and fragile lace
sweeping the fading sky
as summer heat on cooling wind
breathes the sweetest goodbye
While ocean waves begin to dance
in white upon the shore
I’ll find our spot where wildflowers
the ones that I adore
growing in veils of ivory white
and gently as they sway
I’ll pick a bunch and wrap them up
in a lovely bouquet
Memories of a summer day
that passed with just a blink
and leaving me, when evening comes
dreaming of clouds of pink…
~~~

Cotton Candy Dreams? That's interesting!

Strongly pen'd up. You already know how to value the words by shaping 'em with thoughts.. it's marvelous & perfectly a romantic lullaby belonged to your "Cotton Candy-Dreams" (Just teasing you). Excellent work!

Just wonderful Ol' Chap! This makes me want to have my best man Geoffrey pour some sherry and prepare my ether in my sitting room whilst I look over my old military memoirs. It seemed like just yesterday that I was beheading Punjabi left and right in Kafiristan during the Sepoy Mutiny. I seem to recall that my good friend Magistrate Templeton was there, though he was just just a young Leftenant like myself. Why, he could kill Sepoy and rile the women at the same time, what? I, myself, am guilty of curing dirty puzzles of their hysteria over a bottle of Punjabi ether. Oh, what wonderful times! Bully!

Julie, I thought of cotton candy just after reading the title in my RR queue, and sure enough the metaphor is used to gorgeous effect in the poem. This piece, like most of your others, delves into and divulges a story in gossamer wings, lets it fly around in its telling, then wrapping up in an ending that brings it full circle, completing the lovely journey succinctly. Lovely as is your norm! take care...dan

I like how the poem has the ability to make me visualize it. I could pretty much see the clouds of pink floating in front of me, and I could feel the evening wind on my face. Good job! :)

This is the poetry that made you famous.

Your perfect ability to pull the reader along on a mesmerizing journey
To softly take their hand and guide them along a beautiful path
Lined with happy images and sensual memories.

And leave them with an enduring smile......
For they know they have just experienced something special.

Smiling here.
