Streams

Streams

A Poem by MsJewel

An ocean vast in its beauty

with tides that rose for you and me

as deep waters quickly surround

the one who is willing to drown…

While waves of passion gently flowed

from breast to breast time slowed

our arms entwined in the embrace

of love blinded until the trace

of pastel clouds were shaded gray

in search of truth…I sailed away

And as the angry sky wept

through the storm, my heart slept

Life’s honesty still holds the pain

as time moves on and yet I strain

to see oceans as merely streams

that trickle through my silent dreams

when darkness falls although I grieve…

Love was there…I still believe

you are the mistress of love poems...and about the believe in it.
I love how you present an allegory that deals with dreaming smaller because they are easier to achieve.
And yet going for it all, pretending they are just streams...that might just work.
love the positive vibes felt here.

I think love is strongest when infatuation holds all the cards... when we draw new cards as infatuation fades we often find ourselves wishing for a do-over.

Sometimes looking within we find the answers we do search...truth ...love...why does it ache and hurt ...as if in a far off land where fairytales come true....🌹

Your words speak volumes and the reference to the ocean and "waves of passion" perfectly describe love in its essence. Simply beautiful Julie and reminds me of someone I was once very close to who had strong ties to the ocean and pulled me towards him emotionally like a hungry dolphin. Your positive message at the end leaves one with a big smile on the heart :-)

Vow you are the best when it comes to sensual stuff. The metaphoric ocean is splendid the way you describe it.
Good to hear from you

pleasure :)
oh my ... draws me in and holds me .. i see and feel how a woman's heart feels and mind wanders over love and loss ... really appreciate the work with oceans and tides and changing skies ... time is eternity in such a brief moment .. the pic is also very emotive in connection with your poem Ms. Jewel! well done .. i like its freedom form structure but solid with rhyme sparsely used ... love the font change ups .. emphasizing already powerful lines ...i want to tell "her" ..yes...of course it was there ... its a light and fire tho dim .. will remain and re-ignite ... optimist that i am ;) thanks for sending the RR ... better than chancing i miss this ;))) happy October my dear friend!

Thanks for read-requesting! I haven't seen you in my newsfeed & I forget about people easily! Your poem entranced me & I don't favor love poems! V1 is stunning imagery . . . I went over it more than once, it's so compelling to read! I love your gentle rhyming that doesn't take center stage & I love how your language choices are flowing & floaty & light as your msg spills like a babbling brook! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
