The Rock that was your Heart

The Rock that was your Heart

A Poem by JulieNorell
"

This is just one of many poms athat i have in my old journal :)

"
Love, is a double edged sword. The hilt is soft like the worn leather of an old saddle, But the blade...is sharp. When it is used against you it can pierce your heart deep enough to leave a scar you'll feel for years. Even king Arthur can't pull that sword out of the rock that used to be your heart.

nice comparison here :). i never thought about love as a sword, but considering some of my own experience, this text seems to have emphasized what i didn't see at that time :). going a bit further, it's good that king Arthur can't pull that sword, because then the sword will be just the sword that used to pierce the rock, but the rock would go back to being just a rock with a hole in it, a wounded rock reminding of the past :). so maybe sometimes it'd be better for the sword to remain in-there ;).

Indeed it can and often cuts both ways, who can remove that sword, why the very next lover, till of course he drives it back in again

I like the king Arthur analogy/tie-up at the end. Neat, sweet, replete.
