My Midnight Stranger

My Midnight Stranger

A Poem by Jvonne

I still smell the sweet seduction of you presence,
I can still feel the sensation of your forbidden essence.
I was caught in the sin that was you,
Fighting to hold on not knowing what to do.

Wanting to go but unable to leave,
Drowning in lies, unable to breath.
Wishing you away but pulling you close,
Relishing in the wrongness you propose.

You left me me cold and wanting more.
Without looking back you closed that door.
Haunted by the coldness in your heart,
Wishing we were never apart.

Held captive by these ruthless chains,
Your poisonous venom still pulsing through my veins.
Will I recover, will I ever be the same?
Was it fate or only my foolish heart to blame?
