Rush

Rush

A Poem by Jym Parrella
"

I was a touring musician for many years and am currently a professional wrestler... there are a few moments before performing when your body surges and you get goosebumps.

"
It’s electric!
I can feel the fire as the first notes of my music hits
The hair starts to rise as if to pay attention to the show
I transform from man to machine
I move forward through the curtain basking in the glow of the lights and reaction
Love me or hate me your going to respect me
For the time I am out there, I’m someone else and my brain hits record
I am on auto pilot while letting the environment take control.
The sweat, the tears, the aches and pains subside
This is why my feet touch the floor in the morning
Better than drugs and almost orgasmic the feeling consumes me
It’s that rush I can’t live without

I am a singer, and there is no other feeling like being taken away by the music. The only other feeling that I would compare it to is writing, although it is a different feeling it is really the same.
