And so the world fades away...

One day there were words

Then there were none

Then the streets rolled themselves

Inward consuming the loiterers

Spitting those with paper in pocket out the sides

You were just leaning

 

The trees ripped from the ground

Houses disassembled

Bricks ripped from mortar

Civilization forcibly evicted

Like a zit on some great face

 

So the world faded away

And if you stood back far enough

It simply fell apart

Running like sand through fingers

Until there was nothing left

But a wordless rock

 

And I liked the stupid words

Me too! I relate to this experience completely. Silence just astounds me. It makes me wonder if human beings are human--and if civilizations are actually civilized. I even go so far as to say that silence is violence because it does feel like emotional violence. Superbly written.

In the last stanza, did you mean "than" rather than "that"?

Also, I loved the images--I'd cut out that first line though...or make it the title.

Thank you for pointing out the typo. I just kinda spit out whats in my head and i miss some of the mistakes. Also i love the advice on the first line but i think im gonna keep it. Thanks for reading!

I think it's cool you jot the time of the write down as well. Cataclysmic view of sorts, the world its own dystopia, unaware of itself, except from the vantage point of these line. Another cool one.

Thank you for reading steven. I was inspired by someone who deleted all of their work. The time thing was a suggestion to see if there was a time that i was more productive. I havent bothered to check back up on that though... Im glad you liked the piece.

Yeah, I read this one poet, went by C4, and I loved their work! But I got busy with life, and when I came back on more frequently, I couldn't find a trace of them. Still can't! lol. So, all right, seeing this in a new light.
