It's Ambient Ink Stupid Rock

It's Ambient Ink Stupid Rock

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk

Words fall, sprinkling the earth,

Spattering ink over the dry walls

Leaving the hotel room blank page

Rorschached in their landing

The craters will be forever

Stained with the indelible

Paint that was the sad meteorites

Burning through the upper atmosphere

Kind space junk pulled into the black hole

Spit out at some loitering

Rock coated in moss and puddles

And after the impromptu introduction

The crash landing

The loving fiery embrace

Into the open arms

Of the ever soft ground

There was ambient noise

Rolling through the cracks

The canyons running through

And from the point of impact

The water there was washed away

In the rolling tide of heat and ink

Civilizations coated in permanent black

Before ignition

Wildlife evaporated in

The napalm combustion when the two

Combined

A hole was opened

In the eye of the planet

And it was left reeling

Knocked from its course

Left with head hanging

Oceans running into space

Don’t worry little planet

This vacant lot can’t be as cold as they say

And perhaps

The ink will wash away

Someday…

Until then there is

Ambient noise
