Eclipsing Thought

Eclipsing Thought

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk

New horizons hidden ahead of

The passing of the setting sun

I chase them looking forward

Following my light

Not wanting it to fade

But become more brilliant

I have no time to pause

For food or breath

It is escaping

Running away like water down a drain

I chase in vain

Ever peering into the depth

The painful setting sun

Determined to beat it to the horizon

And as my eyes blister

It disappears

I wish someone had just told me

Instead of racing for the horizon

You should just turn around and wait

Powerful! You never know what you may see in the end, when chasing the horizon. Great write!

Oh, this is so profound. I know this feeling so well and I know how it feels when one wishes someone made one realize one's follies of perception. Superbly written, my friend. Extremely insightful and empowering work.
