Truth

Truth

A Poem by K. Kappele

In a few years"
will you have grown?

Found the one?
maybe…

she’ll make you better and then
the wheels inside your mind will turn, crank, and clatter.

the bulb going off with a mutter of obscenities
a nervous sweating on your forehead
because for once"
                               the realization sinks in that what you did;
made you ruin another.
Then will you be able to look me in the eye
bare your soul once more
like i had done mine and lay naked with your heart out
for one last true word that you can speak to me?

Sorry

a muttered ramble to show me that even if you aren’t
good with words that you try to convey
a simple UNDERSTANDING that"

you" cut me in a way no one else could; your signature knife.

The scar left is ugly;
swollen and covered by makeup.
no amount of half smiles and drinks could cover it up.

One day someone might kiss it and whisper sweet nothings
but the hurt will be there because the scar
knows only your voice.

you are it’s maker and giver.
It could only answer you and that is "
                                                            the only painful truth.

For some reason WC Publishing Software text boxes randomly change dashes to quotation marks. It is necessary to review your post AFTER you press publish. Corrections work and have always remained - so far.

A comment on your thoughts ...real with an aftertaste of ouch.
