Nakedly Free

Nakedly Free

A Poem by K.M. Lucero

Groans wake me from my sleep

I kick in protest

the loud beating of my heart

fills my inner ear

time to sleep, eyes closing slowly

warmth all around me

walls cave in, warmth is gone

suffocating slowly and alone

I don’t like this dark embrace

moving is no more

Release comes at my heads edge

darkness urges me forward

Head breaking through the lonely suffocation

cool air and chaos

Hands are around my neck, pulling

I am nakedly free
