The memory

The memory

A Poem by Airman Alltop
"

Unfinished

"
What can I do to get that feeling back
The feeling I had when I saw your face
Hearing your sweet voice after all that way
After being away for so long

I don't remember ever feeling that before
The look inside your eyes warmed my soul
I just stood there in my uniform
My boots dripping on the floor

I wanted to remember that moment forever
Taking you into my arms your head on my shoulder
Holding on to you so tight never wanting to let go
I wanted to remember that moment, Forever

I never wanted to leave you again
Knowing next time might be the last time
Here I am again thousands of miles away
What can I do to get that feeling back

Wow. Very Romantic and very spiritual. Thank you for defending our country: whoever she is a lucky lady.
Beautiful poem.
I know that "never wanting to let go" feeling when faced with a long time away from the one you love.
