We've Been Here Before

We've Been Here Before

A Poem by Kae Martyndale

I've said these words to you before
I remember
It was a hot July day
It was a mild September night
It was a cold December morning
I said these words
And you agreed
And then we decided
To stop the fighting

Where did my words go
They've all faded away
We've argued like this already
We've been here before

I miss the days
When what I said actually mattered
When you listened to the words that came out of my mouth
When you watched my body language and expressions
When you still wanted to read me
When I still wanted to read you

Where did my words go
They've all faded away
We've argued like this already
We've been here before

So shall we end it all here?
Upon a pile of miscommunication
Misheard words, unspoken thoughts
Desires never materialized
Shall we give it another shot
Or call it a night and close the door?
I don't know, because we've been here before

Very emotional write .. your emotions are reflecting into the words indeed & the thing what makes me surprised is the "Year" .. yeah ..the year in which the piece`s written .. 2009.. it`s seemed that you`ve been here since a long time but I haven`t seen you before ..May be, you were untouched from this site since a long ago .. but anyway ... if you are back to this site then i`d love to welcome you .. "Welcome back to this site, Kae" .. Hope you post your new stuffs soon. Keep writing and if I get a chance and you stay in touch of this site again, I`d really love to read your new stuffs either.

A outstanding poem. Description is amazing. Feelings and decisions put upon the table. Needing answers ASAP. A powerful poem with a purpose.

Amazing. This feels genuine and heart-felt. The first stanza is so powerful.

a profound piece of writing. Sometimes it is better to accept that when you can't make progress it is better to call it quits than repeat past arguments interminably
