Inspired by Jaymay, Architecture in Helsinki, Ben Folds, and Meiko. Haha.

I
Can make lollipops out of sticks and stones, and I
Can keep the kids from breaking all their bones, and
When the water comes and drowns the shore
I can make anything become no more, no more,
No more
And I
Remember you were sitting next to me and I
Thought of making friends and holding hands and by the
Time I had decided to, you walked away and let me bleed and
Nothing I can say or do can stop this greed I feel, I need to feel alive.

I can eat a jellyfish and cactus spines and I can b***h
About the way they stung my lips and burned the whole way down
And I can run a mile and half the good cells in my body would be trashed,
Would be trashed, would be trashed

(I don’t run much)

But on the sleepless dream I dreamt the whole night long I would have
Grown them all back, taken you to London with a backpack and a boat so
We could sail the whole way to the other side of the world and play a game
Of hide-and-seek under the lovely rain-filled sky I don’t call home
I don’t call home,
I don’t call home…

I don’t call you
Because there’s something so nerve-racking about
Hearing your voice shallow through the airwaves of this town…

Someday maybe you and I could fall in love and pack our lives
Away to learn the wonders of our bodies and our souls

Maybe when you realize she’s no good for you at all then I could
Comfort you and make you ice cream sundaes on the couch and you would
See the whole time you were missing all that’s left of me and thank me
With a hug and smile that promised surely there’s be more…

(*)

I can make lollipops out of sticks and stones and I
Can keep the kids from breaking all their bones but
When the water comes and drowns the shore
I just watch it flood the rusty door that led me down the path to your
Attention I will never catch.

There is in fact a tune to this, there just isn't much breathing allowed. Heh.
