One For The Coffee Lovers

Just a little thing for the coffee lovers!

I sit at my table just waking up.

Sitting all alone, with my single cup. 
I cannot wait to fill it up.

A cup full of coffee will surely wake me up,

Making up for my lack of sleep.

Gazing at my cup,

Filling it with cream and sugar,

Watching as I swirl it with my spoon.

Its dark, bitter color

Fades to a creamy tan

From the white, crisp milk.

So many things to get done.

 

But I think,

"Why take this time to enjoy this brief moment?"

Sitting alone with my coffee cup.

This early morning is now brought to ease,

With the delicious smell of coffee filling the breeze.

My cup pressed to my lips,

As the liquid falls deep down in my bottomless pit.

I smile at the wonderful taste.

Its wonderful aroma fills the place.

I know I'll have this small time again later around noon.

Coffee helps heal a sleepy soul,

And opens up all the senses.

Perhaps I shall enjoy some hot chocolate before bed.

But as for now I shall stick with my coffee.

Its strong, bitter taste
Helps with the easiest of escapes.

 

Or

Unless one prefers it a little more sweet.

Add a little more milk,
Sugar? What a treat!

Sit back.
Put up your feet!

Take a break,

It is time to sit and relax.
Finally, at last...

Holding it firmly,

Grasping it tight,

Ones coffee cup is a true delight.

 

Maybe tonight I will have a cappuccino,

 Perhaps right now I will enjoy a frappuccino.

Different flavors,

So many to choose.

Dark coffee,

Or the light?

Hot or iced?

Should I add the sugar?

Should I add the milk?

Maybe add in some hard liquor.

 

However one has it, they know it will be just right.

The great smell and taste of coffee,

filling each coffee lover with delight.

 

I think I will drive by Starbucks

Before it is almost night.

 

Leaving work

Or leaving school.

Packing your things, 

Waving goodbye to your friends,

Making a mad split.

Speeding down the highway,

Trying to make it quick.

 

Because every coffee lover knows that,

 That little time of enjoying their coffee 

Is just slight out of their reach.

 

So enjoy your coffee.

Enjoy your break.

 

Have that little moment to yourself.

I love my coffee in the morning at 5:15am when everybody is sleeping. There's just something about the total peace and quiet while waking up. You know the moment won't last for too long, but still, you savor it. Nice job giving life to such an ordinary daily routine.

I surely will.~ I have finally got into the writing spirit once more, as well as reading again.. Wished I never would have stopped, but some things happened (had a little bit of depression, which I overcame, and I am now a Junior in college.. So, many, many things have changed. For the better, of course). I actually have a short story to share from my Illustration class.. So, I shall do that now~
