Is It You?

Is It You?

A Poem by KateD
"

The thoughts are spinning, full of death and destruction. But there's one image to save a life. Is it you?

"

I wish my brain would stop

Just for a while

It keeps spinning around and around

The same thoughts

The same images

Day after day

Death and destruction

Death of dreams

Destruction of possibilities

My own death

If only

Through all the spinning

The unbearable pain

I have to carry on

Where others must leave unwillingly

I wonder why?

Then my mind clears long enough

For me to see your face

Your wonderfully kind, loving eyes

And I wonder

Is it you

I am being kept here for?

Are you the reason?

My reason for living?

I wish - I hope

I try to hold on

To the image of your face

Like a lifeline

But the spinning starts again

And I lose you

In the sea of chaos

That is my brain

I wish...

What?
