SongbirdA Chapter by Katie SchwabThis story is inspired by Songbird by Fleetwood MacA man writes a woman a poem " a song, really.
He knows nothing of pianos or chords or melodies, but as he writes, sharp wet-black ink against yellowed paper in the notebook she bought him for his birthday, in his head he hears singing. More specifically, he hears her singing his words back to him and, addicted to the sound of it, he writes and he writes and he writes to ensure she never stops.
Like the songbirds that live in the birch outside his window, she sings and she sings and she sings, and she will sing, as long as he has words in his head and love in his hands.
He loves her and he loves her and loves her. Right now, like he never has before. His little Songbird.
