Twenty Tissues

Twenty Tissues

A Poem by Kay

i soaked twenty tissues

cupped my pool of tears

as they streamed in soft diamonds

like raindrops slipping off gutter pipes

caught them in my hand

a salty, sorrowful ocean

stared into my handheld mirror

and asked myself

why aren’t there enough

angel wings in this box?
