D.I.D.

D.I.D.

A Poem by Kay
"

Stands for Dissociative Identity Disorder.

"

She’s at war with her imagination,

the dictator and the prisoner,

each claiming to be the real specimen,

a whip in one hand,

a jar of powdered piety in the other,

dancing with bipolar legs

in oscillating rhythms of perspective,

antithetical speech spilling off her rogue tongue,

Mrs. Heads-and-Tails in constant rotation,

flinging herself into two halves

of unrelated realms.
