ProlugeA Chapter by KatyCrossI remember my parents used to say to me, “High school, is when all the teenagers lose control. Doing drugs, having unprotected sex, rebling….” They used to go on, and on, and on, about how in high school, everyone turned into a rebel, and that it better not happen to me. I should keep my GPA at a 3.7 and I should always wear clothes that covered everything. No drugs, no sex until I was married, no alcohol, no parties, etc. I mean, it’s not like we were some super religious do-no-wrong type of family. Not at all. We were"and still are"Christians and we try to follow the rules, but everyone makes mistakes right? We weren’t perfect, still aren't and we won’t ever be. Well, to be honest, my parents weren’t exactly right. The “rebel” stage, didn’t always start in high school. No, for me it came sooner. In high school, I was as mature as some of the adults I knew because of all the mistakes I had made and learned from. I had seen, and been through a lot. No, high school was not the veering point for me. It was middle school. Believe it or not, it started off like most teenage girls stories do… It started with a boy. © 2014 KatyCross |
