Our Love Story

Our Love Story

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

Our Love Story

Right under the moonlight sky
when the night was damp in love.
There you make a wish on stars
that we could for life be one.

Your wishes poisoned by time
and soon buried your blissful thought
pushing our love far apart
keeping me far from your world.

Debris of the shattered memories
still clearly reflect the past pictures.
Though you forgot  to remember,
yet I couldn't remember to forget.

Thank you, Kimmie.
The problem with romantic love is that it can blow hot and cold, leaving one of the partners vulnerable to hurt. That seems to be what happened in this case. The part of wisdom, difficult as it can be, is to write it all off to experience.

Exactly, sir.
Thank you so much.
A poignant poem about love which didn't last. Very nicely expressed Kay. Your final couplet most touching. Much sadness of expression here.

Thank you so much, Jason.
Thank you for your wonderful review.
I'm not usually a fan of romantic writing becuz some romantic writers tend to use similar imagery over & over. That's why I commend you for going outside the dotted lines with your imagery. Especially good: "the night was damp in love" . . . and the last two lines, played off each other, are brilliantly crafted & thought-provoking. Overall, this feels like a poem that's cranked out using skill, rather than passion. Usually your writing has more of a passionate edge to it, whereas this feels a little bit like you are practicing romantic writing -- and EXCELLENT practice! I am a fan of practicing everything in writing. We all have to start somewhere! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I am glad and you are welcome my friend.
When one loves more than the other, it can be devastating, but so is staying with someone who doesn't love you. It is a pain you never get used to and one that takes time to heal.... Unless you just get right back out there and find someone better.
Nicely captured life and death of love in three verses.

That's a beautiful review, Lorry.
Thank you so much.
Well, Kay, since you did write this, I guess it was worth it. LOL. Not all love stories have happy endings and what you have written, is a testament to that fact. Well done.
