Most if not more than half the causes in the cases of Epilepsy are idiopathic, which is the medical term for unknown. This got me thinking of obscure ways that might cause this disease that has frightened mankind for ages now. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance. (aka a consecutive follow up of seizures over a period of time) The above poem is purely my imagination wondering if dark things from the basis of our nightmares causes epilepsy as a way to break out of our mind and infest the world we live in, would explain the hallucinations and make for a good book. I do empathize with anyone of you who has this unfortunate neurological disorder and in no way do I mean to disrespect you or what you're going through. Much love and Respect, Kee.

Such a thought provoking piece, giving us more understanding of what Epilepsy is. It truly is a heartbreaking disease that affects so many. Because there are so many unknown factors to this disease you have captured the eerie nature extremely well. Your loving soul shines through this piece. Well done my friend, much love to you always, Kee.
I applaud you for this insightful piece you have written here enlightening those of us out there that do not really understand what Epilepsy is. This can not be said for me as I am very familiar having a family member whom is dealing with this disorder.
A very poignant read... thanks for sharing

The last line is so blunt and straightforward. It's like an arrow. It's like knowing it's gonna happen but yet when you read it or hear it, it comes as a brand new terrifying shock!
Your theory of epilepsy is a piece of wonder. I had nver thoight of it this way. It's a perfect mixture of fantasy, and horror, and it still retains the horribleness of the disease. I strongly feel for those who suffers from it.
A wonderful piece Kee. Going to my favorites!:-):-):-D.

also thank you for adding this to your favorites, means a lot to have your support!
An interesting question. I've talked to someone who has epilepsy, and they say their seizures are usually during or after a stressful time. I think if said nightmare was to cause enough stress it very well could cause a seizure.
Great poem Keegan! It flowed with ease as an eerie feeling is given. I assume these were also goals of this piece seeing how good you executed them, and everything else really.

Thank you so much you were spot on and yes many seizures are stress related, often more times than we could imagine.

but also not all stress related seizures might cause epilepsy
I was told I suffered a seizure as a baby, naturally, I do not remember it. My heart
goes out to those who suffer from who have to deal with this and for
Their loved ones.
Profound, brilliantly written... venturing into the depths of the psyche of the mind.
You captured the context of this topic with such intellectual eloquence with
Amazing use of meter, imagery and rhyme that it's astounding, Mr. D'souza.
Definitely one of my favorite writes from you!
Great job, Keegan :)

If its not physical or mental or emotional pain is depression due to the heavy dose of medication. I agree with you I empathize with them and their families, thank you for your kind and touching review.
Fascinating and troubling subject matter, I myself do not suffer from this horrific ailment, but have seen a few people having seizures, it's all consuming and scary as hell for both parties. Love your poem, I can relate to the dream/nightmare sequence of it, amazing how the brain flashes our psyche to recall while we sleep. Always an intelligent and awe inspiring read from you Kee, well done my friend.

Yeah we both love the whole subconscious factor of our minds as you and I both implement it often in our poems :D thank you so much for the read and amazing review, love ya muchly.
You have no idea how deeply this one resonates with me, I mean it truly moved me...I have been prone to seizures for much of my life (I had one last week in fact) and for years they were believed to be epileptic, but earlier this year, I was told they were not epileptic but stress-related...still this poem speaks volumes to me just the same...I could not have articulated the feeling better myself...awesome work my friend.

Some of the most famous creative and respected people of history, Julius Cesar, Edward Allan Poe, Socrates etc were epileptic. Amazes me what our brain is capable of. For you to give your approval of this piece means a lot, I had no clue you suffered from seizures. but just the way you write is so intellectual that your opinion mattered to me and i'm glad you approved of this piece. much love and respect K.
