The Race

The Race

A Poem by Guess

I stumble,
I fall,
I get back up

The track may be the same,
but I for sure have changed

Learning from my past and learning from my mistakes...
Taking the time to analyze my failures
Not to self criticize,
But to improve the one I call self

I definitely aint the same-
I look over my shoulder,
as I run towards the finish line.
I see the achievements I've accomplished-
the obstacles I've overcome to get this far

I run but never away from my fears
First place will forever be the goal
Victory will forever be the aim

The perfect blend of working harder and smarter
Pushing myself to the limit
But never to the point of burnout

I may have lost a lot of battles in the past,
but the rest of these finish lines are mine
